Green Pass

MANDATORY CERTIFICATIONE

“STRENGTHENED” GREEN PASS
From December 25th, even in the white area to access the Caves it is mandatory to wear an FFP2 mask, moreover it is necessary to show the “strengthened” green pass, that is a green pass generated following vaccination or recovery. As per DECREE-LAW 24 December 2021, n. 221

ADJUSTMENT TO THE INTRODUCTION OF THE GREEN PASS BY AUGUST 6TH
Starting August 6th, 2021 it is mandatory to submit a GREEN PASS in order to access the “Grotte di Castellana”, as by law D.L. 23 luglio 2021 n. 105, as  “urgent measure to fight the epidemiological emergency of COVID-19 and as a safety management for social and economic activities”.

WHO NEEDS TO SUBMIT A GREEN PASS
The Green Pass is required for all visitors aged 12 and over.
Children under the age of 12 and all subjects with suitable medical documentation issued according to the criteria defined in a circular from the Ministry of Health are exempt.

HOW ARE THEY CONTROLLED
The Green Pass must be shown, together with an identity document and for minors a self-certification of the parent (or guardian) certifying their age, at the check point set up at the information point near the parking in via Matarrese.
After the verification of the Green Pass, a colored bracelet will be given to wear and  to be shown at the ticket office to buy the ticket or to access the Caves with pre-purchased online tickets. The bracelet must be worn for the duration of the visit.

ANNOUNCEMENT:
The Green Pass check for day tours cannot be done at the ticket office; those who have already pre-purchased the ticket online must go to the check point to get their Green Pass controlled and receive the bracelet.
Those who have to buy the ticket on the spot must pass through the check point for the Green Pass control before going to the ticket office.

SPELEO NIGHT TOUR AND HELL IN THE CAVE
Those who have booked the Speleo Night Tour must show the Green Pass at the evening check point located at the ticket office before purchasing the booked ticket.
Those who have booked Hell in the Cave tickets (show only ), must show the Green Pass at the evening check point located at the ticket office area before purchasing the booked ticket.
Those who booked combined tickets visit the Caves + Hell in the Cave show must go to the check point at the Information point near the parking in via Matarrese to check the Green Pass and receive the identification bracelet before purchasing the tickets at the ticket office to access the Caves and must continue to wear the bracelet in order to access the show.

In the absence of the Green Pass or adequate certification, the purchase of the ticket and the relative access to the Caves for the various activities will not be allowed. Without a Green Pass or adequate certification, you will not be entitled to a refund of any ticket purchased online.

VISIT THE CAVES IN SAFETY

Before entering the caves it is necessary to undergo a temperature measurement

Download the self-certification form, fill it in and hand it in when accessing the karst site

Maintain an interpersonal distance of at least 1 meter

Sanitize your hands with the disinfectant gel available along the access path to the caves

Wear the FFP2 mask for the entire stay inside the karst site

Don'ts

WHAT NOT TO DO DURNG THE VISIT

Smoking is prohibited inside the caves

Photographing and filming is only allowed in the “Grave”, the first cavern of the system

It is severely forbidden to touch the limestone formations, remove or break the speleothems

It is not allowed to access the caves with baby buggies or strollers

Recommendations

USEFUL INFORMATION BEFORE VISITING

It is recommended to use the restrooms before the visit

It is possible to bring small pets along, but only if carried in a pet carrier or in the arms

The visit is not recommended for visitors with heart conditions

The trail can be slippery, we recommend the use of comfortable non-slip footwear

The complete itinerary, going all the way to the White Cave, is not recommended for people over the age of 70
